1.- Who is www.antoniomata.com?

Antoniomata.com is the web portal of the Antonio Mata group, made out of the Casa Mata chain of shops and the Jamones Mata farms, slaughterhouse and ham cellars. Every Antonio Mata ham starts in our own farms, according to the stringent D.O. Teruel guidelines, is slaughtered on house and is finally processed in our own facilities in Rubielos de Mora, Teruel, Spain, thus ensuring optimum quality and traceability. Our hams and cured meats are exclusively sold through our own shops, www.antoniomata.com and selected retailers worldwide.

Antonio Mata is a family-owned business, now in his third generation, with a deep passion for a quality product, true to the roots. You can find more about us in our corporate website.

2.- Who makes Casa Mata hams and cured meats?

Cured meats and hams of the Casa Mata and Rubielos brand are exclusively made in our own facilities in Rubielos de Mora, Teruel, Spain, exclusively sold through our own shops, www.antoniomata.com and selected retailers worldwide.

3.- What's a D.O. Teruel ham?

The Denominación de Origen (D.O.) system is a legal framework that assures that a product has been produced according to certain guidelines to ensure the best quality and sustainability while keeping true to its roots. In the ham case it certifies the origin and breed of the meat, minimum curing time, the most appropriate locations for curing, etc.

The Jamón de Teruel D.O. is the oldest such certification established in Spain for hams, dating back to 1984 and listed by the EU as 'significant quality product' in 1997.


4.- How are orders sent to my address?

For orders within Spain we use the TNT agency, which ensures delivery in 24, 48 or 72 hours depending on your specific location.

Our international orders are shipped through TNT or Rhenus Logistics.

5.- How are orders packed?

Our products leave our facilities perfectly protected for the transit so that they arrive in an optimal conditions. To avoid temperature changes during transit time that can affect the qualities of the product, we pack them inside isothermal boxes, adding cold packs whenever needed.

This ensures that the products will not suffer temperature extremes that could alter its texture, aroma or flavour.

6.- What happens if a product is wrongly sent or arrives in non-optimal conditions?

We take great pains to ensure that the product arrives in the best possible condition to our customers. Should anything not be of your liking, please contact us at clientes@antoniomata.com or by telephone on +34 964 24 77 24. We will make anything possible to assure your satisfaction.

7.- How can I contact you?

Our main offices and logistics base are located in our central shop in Av. Valencia in Castellon, Spain. Our products are manufactured in our Rubielos de Mora, Teruel, Spain, facilities. We invite you visit our shops or book a guided visit to our manufacturing facilities.

8.- I am a retail professional (gourmet shop, restaurant, etc.) and would like to have your products. Is that possible?

Please contact us by telephone or at export@antoniomata.com and we will send you whatever information you need.

9.- I want to prepare several hampers for my business partners/customers/staff. How can I do that?

Choose between our ready-made hampers or contact us at clientes@antoniomata.com so that we can talk together about the different available options.

10.- Do prices include tax?

Yes, our prices are inclusive of tax (VAT, IVA in Spain). In case you are eligible for a VAT-free operation, please contact us first in order to enable a VAT-free profile for you. Also check next FAQ question.

11.- I am a foreign (i.e. not established in Spain) business. Do I have to pay VAT?

No. VAT is only charged for Spanish-based businesses and individuals irrespective of nationality or residency. If you are a foreign business, please contact with us at export@antoniomata.com to modify your web profile in order to allow VAT-free transactions. We will need at least 48h to verify that your VAT nº is correct. Please note that your business must be listed as an intra-EU operator to allow this, and that you will have to pay VAT locally.

12.- What countries can you send orders to?

Our system allows for automatic shipping to all EU states. Please contact us for availability and shipping costs for shipments to other countries as well as islands and overseas territories of the United Kingdom, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, etc.

Besides that, some products may have shipping restrictions in certain countries. These restrictions arise because of the impossibility of assuring an optimal reception of such products on long transits. Each product will have these restrictions shown on their description.

13.- Is it safe to pay by credit card?

The payment is processed through a secure connection with our bank. Your credit card details are not stored or accessed at any point by anyone other than the bank.
